DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH KIT- Part No: 0444

Our very own designed Digital Thermatic Fan Switch Kit can be used with our Thermatic Fans, EWP's and competitors Fans. It senses air temperature as it passes through the radiator with the sensor placed in the radiator fin section or the sensor can now also be placed directly into the coolant system in combination with a Temperature Sensor Adaptor Kit (Part 0409). It can be used for 12 or 24 volt applications and has an adjustable temperature range of 40ºC to 110ºC (104ºF to 230ºF) which can show Centigrade or Fahrenheit. Temp is set by pressing the set button. It can run 1 or 2 fans. The second fan (if applicable) will start 10 seconds after Fan #1 runs. It operated thermally & also when the air conditioning is in operation.

Davies, Craig Pty Ltd very own designed Digital Thermatic Fan Switch Kit can be used with our Thermatic Fans, EWP's & competitors Fans.

Simply set the temperature by pressing the set button.
It can run 1 or two fans. The second fan (if applicable) will start 10 seconds after Fan #1 runs. The fans will operate until the air temperature is reduced by 5 degrees (C) from the set temperature.  

 *Note: The unit is Not WaterProof

 

12 & 24 VOLT APPLICATION

*Note: Kit sold in 12 volt configuration, for 24 volt application, you will need to change the two relays with 2 x 24 volt units which are not supplied in the kit.

AIR TEMPRETURE APPLICATION:

It senses air temperature as it passes through the radiator and has an adjustable temperature range of 40ºC to 110ºC (104ºF to 230ºF).
The Temperature Sensor is placed in the radiator fin section as close to the hot coolant inlet as possible, no need to cut hoses or can be placed directly into the coolant system.

WATER / COOLANT APPLICATION:
The 0444 sensor can now also be placed directly into the coolant system. To help you identify if your 0444 is capable of water / coolant applications, the sensor cable will be 1meter in length whilst the older 0444 units only have a 50cm cable. 

You will also need to use a Temperature Sensor Adaptor Kit (Part 0409) to assist with this type of fitment.

**NOTE: ensure you have a current 0409 which inlcudes a 5 & 6mm Olive. A Star Burst on the packaging will you identify this along with two olives in the packaging. You can also contact us directly to attain a 5mm olive should you have older stock (Part 10408).

*Note: if using this switch for use with our EWP's, it will not vary the speed of the pump in response to engine temperature but rather turn the pump on and off at your set temperature. For EWP control, we would recommend part number 8001 which can manage both the EWP and your Thermatic Fans.

    Hi, here is my review of the 0444 DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH which I have been using now for the last 2 summers in my 1995 Mitsubishi Dual Cab 4x2 Diesel Ute. After having a couple of bad experiences with clutch fans, I decided to convert my ute over the what I beleive is a reliable cooling alternative to the OE on my vehicle. My experience with Davies Craig thermo switches goes back to the 80s and 90's using the older probes that went in on the top radiator hose. My reasons for using the 0444 DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH were the digital setup and the 2 relays that were supplied with this unit. A quick installation and the set up was easy, The only modification that I did different to the recommendation from Davies Craig was that I had to put the sensor probe down near the bottom radiator hose outlet as my diesel ( a 4D56) has the theromstat in the water pump. I did try the top radiator hose area, but the fans were cutting in and out way to often due to the uniqueness of this cooling system. The primary cooling fan is a 14" placed on top radiator hose side and the secondary fan is a 6 " placed on the lower outlet side of the radiator. These fans cut in and out beatifully with the 0444 DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH and have never had once to adjust or touch the system since the last setup 2 years ago. I live in Brisbane so we get very high humidity here, from 7o% to 90% so the amdbient temperature is quite high most times. Driving from Strathpine area to the Redcliffe area . about 25klms, the fans only cut in and out a couple of times , and the temperature guages never go over 85 degrees celcius. ( i have 2 temp guages, one at the top in the head of the engine and the other at the bottom raditor hose.. yeah i know, it sounds like and overkill, but I like to know what is going on) Now you might say, that the cooling system must be good, true, but the real strenght of this cooling system is in the management setup of the 0444 DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH and how it runs these fans until the programmed temp is reached and reduced I can recommend the Davies Craig products to anyone, as I still have my original manual thermo swtiches bought in Mareeba 25 years and and they still work, but if you want something modern and hightly efficient in its design , the 0444 DIGITAL THERMATIC® FAN SWITCH is the way to go.
